Jang Joonhwan & Moon Sori - Master in the House

In “Master in the House” (집사부일체), the butlers singer / actor Lee Seung Gi (이승기), BTOB’s Yook Sungjae (육성재), actor Lee Sang Yoon (이상윤) and comedian Yang Sehyung (양세형) spend the night with director Jang Joonhwan (장준환) and his actress wife Moon Sori (문소리) to celebrate 2019 being the 100th anniversary of Korean cinema. The award-winning director of critically acclaimed films such as "1987: When the Day Comes" (2017), "Hwayi: A Monster Boy" (화이, 2013), "Save the Green Planet!" (지구를 지켜라!, 2003) and the charismatic film actress who is referred to as the "Meryl Streep of Korea" live in a book-filled 2 storey mansion with a panoramic ocean view, along with their dexterous 9 year daughter Jang Yeondoo (장연두) who has a talent for making miniatures using recycled materials and their two Jindo dogs, Bori and three-legged Dalma who lost a leg in a car accident. Apart from their love of films and books, the couple confess they are both a little crazy on the inside. When asked by the butlers what motivates the making of films such as "1987: When the Day Comes" which is a film based on true events about a fight for human rights and democracy in Korea, Jang Joonhwan explains that he sees the world differently since becoming a father and want to help future generations to learn about history. "A filmmaker proposed making that film. Since it was about an incident that happened in real life, I was extremely pressured. I didn't know how to deliver the story well. After getting married and becoming a father, my point of view of this world became very different. For children, I wanted to direct a movie like this and show them. They may not be able to watch it now, but I thought it was my duty to allow them to watch it later on. I pondered a lot about how I should portray and deliver. I'm relieved. It was an adventure."
